All this talk about convergence has really gotten me thinking about everything that's going on in Egypt. It's remarkable that even with Mubarek's strict regulations on internet and media, that we are still able to be constantly updated on the state of the protests.
I just recently watched a video clip on the internet in which two women shot a video of a protester approaching Egyptian police. The protester was shot and killed. The video went viral after the women put the video online. The video was shot with a cell phone camera according to the report. This just goes to further show how anyone can be a journalist and add to the media landscape in today's society.
This particular case in Egypt goes to show the value of the converged media and citizen journalist. Without people keeping us updated like this, I fear that much of the truth would not get out. It is a scary time to be a political figure with all of the scrutiny.
Here's to hoping that this fiasco in Egypt gets cleared up before much more blood is shed.
I will be taking a look at Mubarek's leadership soon hopefully
